Kuchta Farms is a family-owned and operated farm rooted in Braceville, Ohio since 1954. Over the years, we’ve grown a variety of crops including soybeans, wheat, corn, and fresh produce—becoming especially known for our sweet corn.
Today, we farm row crops throughout the year, but in the fall, the farm comes to life in a whole new way!
We open our gates for a fun, family-friendly experience featuring a 10 acre Corn Maze, Wagon Rides, Pumpkins, Barn Yard Activity Area, Fresh Made Food, Donut & Drinks, and so much more!
In 1950, John “Bud” Kuchta and his wife, Doris, established their roots on a parcel of land along State Route 82 in Braceville Township, Ohio. While working full-time at a local steel mill, Bud built their family home by hand over the course of two years—a home they would cherish for a lifetime.
Bud’s passion for farming began at a young age, working as a farmhand for a local farmer. In 1954, Bud and Doris took a significant step forward by purchasing a 50-acre portion of that very farm, officially establishing what would become Kuchta Farms. Over the years, Bud cultivated a wide variety of crops, including popcorn, sweet corn, tomatoes, hay, and other produce.
Together, they raised three sons—Dell, Dennis, and David—who grew up working alongside their parents and learning the value of hard work on the farm.
In 1994, their son Dennis and his wife, Carol, expanded the operation by purchasing additional land in Braceville. During this time, the farm began transitioning toward grain farming while continuing to produce high-quality sweet corn and other crops. For many in the community, “Kuchta Sweet Corn” became a well-known and trusted staple of summer.
Dennis and Carol Kuchta raised four children—one daughter, Holly, and three sons, Michael, Ryan, and Tyler—on the family farm. Over the years, the farm evolved alongside the family. At one point, their son Michael operated a seasonal pumpkin stand at Bud and Doris’ home along State Route 82. As time went on, the operation shifted away from produce, and Kuchta Farms became focused primarily on grain farming.
In 2011, Ryan and his wife, Amanda, reintroduced the pumpkin patch to Braceville, bringing back a beloved fall tradition. They began at the original roadside stand on State Route 82, where they operated for two seasons before quickly outgrowing the space.
In 2013, after moving into their current home further down State Route 82, Ryan and Amanda expanded the operation and relocated the Kuchta Farms Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze. Over the next decade, the farm continued to grow, welcoming more families each year. Following the 2022 season, it became clear that another move was needed to support that growth.
In 2023, Kuchta Farms relocated once again—this time to its permanent home at 4785 State Route 82 (just 1 mile from the original produce stand)—providing ample space to continue expanding for years to come.
Today, the Kuchta family remains committed to both their agricultural roots and their passion for creating memorable fall experiences. They are proud to serve the community through their grain farming operations and seasonal agritourism offerings, and are grateful to call this community home.
We invite you to visit us during the fall season and experience it for yourself.
